Maps are a recurring element in my work, whether hand-drawn or sourced from vintage originals. For me, they represent both real and imagined journeys, tracing paths through memory, place, and possibility. They are not simply records of geography but objects that evoke exploration, curiosity, and the unknown.
The word Wanderlust, the title of one of my bookworks, encapsulates this enduring fascination. It speaks of travel for its own sakeāthe pleasure of the journey rather than the destination, a longing for places yet to be discovered and landscapes only imagined. Maps carry a quiet sense of nostalgia, preserving traces of past journeys while inviting new ones to unfold.
